The young professional Genge rapper who celebrates his birthday in May was born James Wathigo and Jimwat is brought out from the two names. He was brought up in Kabete and went to Musa Gitau Primary and Chinga High School Nyeri. After his O levels he did Computer course in IT College and later did Graphic design in 2005.

He was brought up in Kabete and went to Musa Gitau Primary and Chinga High School Nyeri. After his O levels he did Computer course in IT College and later did Graphic design in 2005.

He started rapping while he was in class 7 and when he went to Secondary School, he realized that he was talented and he began to take it seriously. In fact, bullys would always come to him for his mobile entertainment. In 2004, he went to Calif and recorded his first song “sema nami sweetie”while he was in form 4 but did not release it until he completed his O levels. In the early 2004, he released it and he was shocked to hear it in Capital FM a few days after its release and later the other stations followed suit. Later the same year, he was featured by Raptaz in”Paulina” which blew like fireworks and was used in the close up dance o mania competition .He also did videos for the songs the same year.

His spirit proved unfadeable when he later featured in the song “Adila” by Riziki and Pararo.In the early 2005 he was featured in Juacali’s”Kwa album yangu” and”wanakimbia”songs which are in “Juacalisekta”,the mini album. he then went on to pursue solo career and he was keen to produce the best coz later that year, he released an explosive supersong,”UNDER18”which he featured Meg C in its Video. The song took him places and permanently built a name for him in the music industry. It also scooped an award in the 2006 Chaguo la teenies and was nominated for several awards in the Kisima.
This was one of his greatest moments that made him feel that he was on the right track and was doing the right thing.

Jimwizy was inspired by Tupac and despite the terrible time he had at the beginning of his journey among them discouragement, he will always owe his success to the Calif clue especially Clemo and Juacali.He has also worked hard to do many unreleased songs eg, dame anakaa poa, love daktari, beep beep, etc, which will feature in his album.
In the year 2006 he featured in the song “Tunakaika” by Wamboe and also “Jaber” featuring Pararo and Riziki amongst other upcoming artists. Currently they have done a super collabo”Mpaka che” with Pilipili which is one of the hit songs leading the local and international charts.

Outside the studio and in relation to music he has unleashed “JIMWAT COLLECTION” Which include t-shirts; under18, mpaka che, dame anakaa poa. It also includes a suit collection, a pair of trousers and a pair of shoes which can be made upon request.
