The Addvoket’s real name is Chisomo D. Nkhoma. He was born November 28th in Malawi. His passion for music started at an early age influenced by Malawian Hip Hop acts as
“Real Elements”, his brother “Chiko” and close-friend/Beat Maker “Prayer.” Various international artistes as: “Sticky Fingaz,” “Canibus,” “Nas” and “Common”- but a few
also influenced his craft.
While peddling through his senior high school years he coined his rap alias “The Addvoket” while listening to a song. He landed a radio job and hosted a Hip Hop show under the
alias “Word.” The show allowed various artistes to call in and freestyle battle each other for ‘recognition’. He later left the show to visit his brother in The United States. While
living in the States he helped launch his brother’s project known as “Mad Love Lounge” that hosts an open mic for Christian poets, dancers and artistes to showcase their work,
eat and network for development of the arts and society. He also got the chance to learn more about music whil3 mingling with various underground artistes who befriended him
as they attended the “Mad Love Lounge.”
He later returned to Malawi as his College time in 2007 had come. His parents had relocated to Kenya for mission work and he went with them in prospects to get into university. On his stay he befriended close-friend, Kimila Entertinament co-founder E.d.o who introduced him to Sauti Productions song writer/producer Eric Kur!a. After a week they worked on “Look Around” which landed on Capital FM’s Solo’s hands who played it on his show with popular presenter Eve D’Souza. Budding for fame, The Addvoket however had to leave Kenya due to the raising insecurity and post-election violence putting his ambitions on hold. He later returned when the situation was contained and joined Daystar University.
At Daystar he met Rapper/Artist Manager/friend Jared Billa. Together they begun working on various projects as Billa’s “Project Unsigned” album cover before The Addvoket was
inspired to work on his long held album (Grey) which he wrote, vocalized, beat programmed alongside Kur!a and friends/artists: Molline, and rap/actor/Spokeword-ist: Pepe Haze. He later re-titled the album: "The World Is Black And White But Love Is Grey” or shortly, “…Love Is Grey.”
